Between January 13, 2004 and January 15, 2004 an unidentified female suspect withdrew about $8,000 from a 90 year old woman’s checking account, using the victim’s ATM card and personal identification number. Detectives are trying to determine how the suspect obtained the card, either stealing it herself or receiving it from a third party.
The suspect is depicted in photographs taken by cameras in ATM’s while the suspect withdrew money. The photographs have been shown to staff members at the north Portland retirement home where the victim lives. The staff members did not recognize the suspect.
In the photographs, the suspect is seen first covering her face with a scarf, then pulling the scarf over her head revealing her face. The suspect is wearing a distinctive ring on her left ring finger.
