Homicide Detectives Ask For Pictures And Videos

June 10, 2004 00:00

Portland Police Bureau detectives are asking for help from the community in their investigation of a recent homicide in north Portland. They are asking for home video, or pictures, taken at the low-rider show, which took place on Sunday June 6, 2004, at the Expo Center. Detectives hope to find additional witnesses to this homicide by examining crowd scenes from the event.

After the low-rider show, at approximately 5:30 p.m., police responded to a call of a person shot in the area of North Victory Boulevard and North Expo Road. When they arrived, they found 16-year-old Alexx Alexander, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He died of a gunshot wound to his head. Detectives think this homicide may be gang related.

Detectives plan to make copies of any video and pictures the community shares with them and to return the originals to the owner.

Anyone who thinks they may have pictures or video of crowds at the low-rider show are asked to call Detective Cheryl Kanzler at (503) 823-0457 or Detective Paul Weatheroy at (503) 823-0458.
