Suspect Indicted In January Shooting Case

June 11, 2004 00:00

On June 9, 2004, a Multnomah County Grand Jury indicted 19-year-old Marcus A. Davis for the January 16, 2004, shooting of 27-year-old Jermaine A. Owens. The shooting occurred at a barbershop, in the 1700 block of Northeast Dekum.

Davis was indicted for Attempt Murder with Firearm, Assault I, Assault II, and 2 Counts of Unlawful Use of a Weapon. He has been in custody in the Multnomah County Detention Center since January 30, 2004, on an Attempt Murder charge, stemming from an unrelated shooting.

Officers and detectives from the Portland Police Gang Enforcement Team served a search warrant and recovered evidence on January 30, 2004, at an apartment where Davis lived. Detectives believe that Davis has gang affiliations.

Also indicted by the Grand Jury on June 6, 2004, was 35-year-old Ronnie Lee. Lee was indicted on perjury charges for making false statements related to this case.

Anyone with any information about this case is encouraged to call Detective Peter Simpson at 503-823-4106.
