On August 2, 2004, at 12:37 a.m., Portland Police responded to a shooting at the International Club located at 322 Northeast San Rafael Street. Shortly after officers arrived at the scene, 19-year-old Anthony Taylor, 22-year-old Parnell Badon, 18-year-old Alexis Campbell, 26-year-old Jason Gauza, and 21-year-old Svesha Harris arrived at Emanuel Hospital with gunshot wounds.
Shortly before the shooting, witnesses saw a white male and black male arguing near the club. Witnesses then heard what they describe as automatic gunfire followed by possibly semi-automatic gunfire. Evidence at the scene indicated that approximately 20 rounds were exchanged during the gunfight. At this time, detectives believe that none of the shooting victims was the intended target of the exchange of gunfire.
Detectives are looking for two individuals described as “persons of interest” in this investigation. A white male, 21-25 years old, 6’, short brown hair, wearing a tan football type jersey and jeans and a black male with braided hair wearing a white T-shirt.
Detectives are continuing to interview witnesses who provided information at the scene. Anyone who attended the party but did not leave their name with the officers at the scene are asked to call Detective Paul Dolbey at (503) 823-0576.
