Crime Stoppers Of The Week

August 03, 2004 00:00

Portland Police, in cooperation with Crime Stoppers, are asking for help in identifying and catching the suspect in a downtown shooting that occurred in mid-July.

On July 17, 2004, at about 2:14 a.m., three men in their 20’s were standing outside of the Aura Club, 1022 West Burnside. A white male suspect exited the club and intentionally bumped into one of the men standing outside. The suspect exchanged words with the three. The suspect then pulled out a gun and started shooting. All three men were shot. The suspect fled on foot.

The suspect is described as a white male, nicely dressed, in his early 20’s, about 6’1’’ to 6’3” tall, approximately 190 pounds, with light colored, spiked hair.

A sketch of the suspect has been released. Detectives would like information from anyone who may recognize the suspect from the sketch, or who may have witnessed the shooting but has not spoken with police.

Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information, reported to Crime Stoppers, that leads to the arrest of the suspect in this case, or any unsolved felony, and you may remain anonymous. Call Crime Stoppers at (503) 823-HELP (4357).
