Detectives Arrest 30-year-old of attempted murder

On Wednesday, September 1, 2004, Portland Police Bureau Homicide Detectives arrested 31-year-old Carrie Lynn Wheeler on three counts of Attempted Murder after receiving information that she may be attempting kill her husband. The investigation began on Tuesday, September 1, 2004, when a citizen, who had believed that Wheeler was attempting to use poison to kill her husband, contacted the Fairview Police Department. Immediately after receiving the information, Fairview Police contacted Portland Police Bureau Homicide Detectives who initiated an investigation.

While conducting the investigation, detective’s developed probable cause to arrest Wheeler. Wheeler was booked into the Justice Center Jail. Due to the timeliness of the information, detectives were able to intervene before the victim was injured. Because this is an ongoing investigation, detectives are unable to release information about the type of poison used in this crime.
