On Thursday, September 9, 2004, at 9:05 PM, Portland Police responded to a “shots fired” call in the 4500 block of Northeast Cully. Officers arrived and found the body of 31-year-old Kenneth Ivey Davis. The body was found near the entrance to the parking area on the West Side of the Back Swing Tavern. Homicide Detectives were called to the scene to initiate an investigation.
An autopsy determined that Davis died from multiple gunshot wounds. Detectives have located several witnesses and are continuing to seek information from anyone who may be able to assist in the investigation. At this time, there is no evidence that Davis was involved in gang-related activity and detectives are not releasing any suspect information. Detectives have not found any connection between the Back Swing Tavern and the homicide.
