Crime Stoppers Of The Week

October 18, 2004 00:00

The Portland Police Bureau and Crime Stoppers need your help finding suspects in a robbery.

On February 7, 2004, 20-year-old Robin Lamont Thompson, and another suspect, robbed two people at a house in the 4600 block of Southeast Taylor Street in Portland

The victims were pistol whipped and bound with duct tape inside the house. During the robbery a friend of the victims came to the front door of the house. His knock was answered by one of the suspects who pulled him into the house. The man tried to fight his way free and made it out the front door. As he tried to get away he was shot. The bullet struck the victim’s hip.

The shooting victim called police on his cell phone. The suspects fled. Based on information provided by the victims, detectives were able to identify Thompson. He has since been indicted and has warrants for multiple counts of Robbery, Assault, Kidnapping, Burglary and a list of other charges.

Thompson is about 5’10”, 150 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He has worn his hair in long braids. He has lived in Northeast Portland, but his current address is unknown. Detectives think he may have moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where he might be enrolled in community college. He should be considered armed and dangerous.

Detectives would like to identify the second suspect in these crimes. He is described as a black male between 18 and 25-years-old with a stocky build. He is about 5’10” with short hair or even a shaved head.

Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information, reported to Crime Stoppers, that leads to an arrest in this case, or any unsolved felony, and you may remain anonymous. Call Crime Stoppers at (503) 823-HELP (4357).
