On July 27, 2005, at about 9:52 p.m., Northeast officers discovered the body of 26-year-old Eyo Nyong outside the doorway of J.D. Sports Bar in the 3500 block of North Vancouver Avenue shortly after hearing shots fired in the area.
Nyong had stepped outside of the bar and was talking with several people. The suspects approached on foot and engaged Nyong in a brief conversation. One of the suspects pulled out a gun and shot Nyong multiple times; he died at the scene. The suspects fled on foot northbound on North Vancouver Avenue
An autopsy has determined that Nyong died of a gunshot wound to the head.
The suspects are described as black males in their early 20’s. One suspect is 6 feet tall, weighing 190-195 pounds, with a very short afro. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a dark, short sleeved T-shirt, dark jean shorts, and white Nike Air Force basketball shoes. The second suspect is 5’8” to 5’9” tall, weighing 170 pounds, and has black hair worn in braids. At the time of the incident, he was wearing dark shorts.
