Traffic Investigators Respond to Fatality on North Portland
March 02, 2006 00:00
On March 1, 2006, at approximately 3:19 am, Portland Police Bureau officers responded to the scene of a fatal collision on North Portland Road near the Columbia Slough Bridge. Officers discovered the 36-year-old driver of a Toyota Tacoma truck, Chirawouth Sanvichith, dead at the scene. Officers also found the driver of a Chevrolet truck, 36-year Guillermo Pueblo-Ramos suffering from injuries sustained in the collision. Portland Police Bureau Traffic Investigators determined that Sanvichith left his lane of travel and entered the oncoming lane of Pueblo-Ramos, causing a head-on collision with Pueblo-Ramos. Investigators do not believe speed was a factor in the collision and are awaiting the toxicology results from Sanvichith to determine if alcohol might have been a factor in his driving. Pueblo-Ramos was transported to a local hospital on the night of the collision and was released.
Investigators are still interviewing witnesses and have not completed the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Officer Chris Johnson at (503) 823-2213.
This investigation is ongoing.
