Crime Stoppers for week of 04-17-06

April 19, 2006 00:00

The Portland Police Traffic Division, in cooperation with Crime Stoppers, are asking for your help in solving a Hit and Run collision that left a pedestrian seriously injured.

On Sunday, March 19, 2006, at approximately 6:51 p.m., a 53-year-old woman was walking in her Forest Heights neighborhood, when a vehicle going northbound on Northwest Miller Road ran her down in the crosswalk at Northwest Mill Ridge Road. The pedestrian bounced off the hood of the car and was left in the street as the suspect vehicle sped off. The pedestrian sustained serious injuries to both her legs that required surgery and extensive physical therapy.

Witnesses have described the vehicle as a silver two-door 1999-2002 Chevrolet Cavalier. The vehicle may have damage to the front grill and hood, and possibly has Washington license plates. The suspect driver has been described as a young female with other passengers in the vehicle, one possibly Asian.

Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information, reported to Crime Stoppers, that leads to an arrest in this case, or any unsolved felony, and you remain anonymous. Call Crime Stoppers at (503) 823-HELP (4357).
