||A Special RDPO Seminar: Weather - Water - Wildfire
||RSVP only to firstname.lastname@example.org
||Metro Council Chambers, 600 NE Grand Ave., Portland, OR
||The RDPO will host (for its stakeholders - due to limited seating) a panel presentation and discussion featuring subject matter experts from the National Weather Service, the Regional Water Providers Consortium, the Northwest Interagency Coordination Center, the Oregon Department of Forestry, and a few local fire agencies from around our region, sharing answers to these and other questions:
1. What weather/potential climate change factors contributed to the low snow pack in the mountains this past winter and what is the weather forecast for the next several months?
2. What is the impact of the low snow pack on watersheds/sources of municipal water and other natural resources in the region? How are the water providers in our region preparing for the potential wildfires around their water sources (e.g., Bull Run)?
3. How are the Northwest Interagency Coordination Center, the Oregon Department of Forestry and some of our local fire agencies preparing for potential urban interface wildfires and other wildfires in and outside out region? How are wildfire preparedness and response activities coordinated? What were some of the key lessons learned last year that can be applied to this season's planning and preparedness efforts?
There will be time for audience questions, as well!
Who should attend? This free event is open to all RDPO stakeholders interested in the topics.
Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?
