Tax Year Summary Statistics

  • Tax Year 2012 taxpayer compliance rates are in line with the last forecasted rates

  • Tax Year 2012 revenues are in line with the last forecasted revenues

  • 87% of tax receipts were distributed or are available for distribution to Portland school districts and the Regional Arts and Culture Council (RACC); this percentage is expected to rise to about 94% for Tax Year 2013

  • The Bureau’s collection and one-time start-up costs are under the 5% cost cap and below budget

Tax Year 2012 Arts Tax Disbursements (PCC 5.73.030)

  • First, funds are distributed to the school districts for the purpose of hiring certified arts or music education teachers for elementary school students for Kindergarten to 5th grade (K-5)

  • Any funds remaining after distribution to the school districts are distributed to RACC

Ongoing Tax Year 2012 Arts Tax Collections

The Bureau continues to actively collect Tax Year 2012 Arts Tax revenues. The Bureau sent out 3,000 billing letters in January and March 2014. The Bureau will send approximately 80,000 additional letters over the course of the next three months.
