Permitted Companies

These are the ONLY Taxi, Executive Sedan, Shuttle, Pedal Powered,
Horse Drawn Carriage, Limousine and Tour companies legally permitted
to pick up passengers in Portland.

Regulation changes have increased penalties for operating without permits in the City of Portland

Permitted companies
  • Have their vehicles inspected;
  • Their drivers have to pass DMV and criminal background checks;
  • They must carry a minimum of $1,000,000 in General Liability insurance; and
  • They must carry a minimum of $500,000 in Auto Liability insurance 

Taxicab Companies

Taxi rates are a maximum of $2.50 plus $2.60 per mile and wait time at a rate of $30 per hour.  Additional passengers are $1 each.

Limousine Companies

Reservation Required: reservations must be made at least one hour in advance. Minimum fare of $50 between Portland International Airport (PDX) and Downtown Portland's "Free Rail Zone".

Maximum shuttle fare is $16 per person between the Portland International Airport (PDX) and Downtown Portland's "Free Rail Zone".

Reservation Required: reservations must be made at least one hour in advance. Minimum fare of $50 between Portland International Airport (PDX) and Downtown Portland's "Free Rail Zone".
