Sustainability at Work was formed in 2007 to make it easy for businesses lacking time, budget and expertise to improve their environmental practices and access free resources. The program’s services have been informed by national and local research, input from hundreds of Portland businesses and by the technical expertise of our partners. Since its launch, the program has helped thousands of Portland businesses advance green initiatives in the workplace – from small start-ups and nonprofits to large companies and corporations.
When you sign up for our program, you will be contacted by one of our Sustainability Advisors who will serve as your personal contact during this process. Our Advisors each have widely varied and diverse backgrounds, which enables us to match you with the best possible contact for your specific type of organization.
Paul de Block
With over a decade of experience in resource efficiency, Paul has helped hundreds of businesses reduce their environmental impacts. His current focus is on assisting commercial property managers in providing their tenants with education and inspiration to improve their sustainability programs.
Genevieve brings to the team over seven years experience implementing sustainable events and establishing successful recycling and composting programs at businesses. As a member of the Sustainability at Work team, Genevieve offers assistance across many technical areas – including energy, water and transportation. She is skilled at conducting staff-training and is well versed in industry practices at event centers, grocery stores, restaurants and hotels.
With a degree in Community Development, a passion forPortland, and more than 20 years of experience working with private, nonprofit and governmental organizations, Kim is well equipped to assist businesses with finding resources and technical assistance that enable them to become more sustainable.
