Mazzetti Nash Lipsey Burch (M+NLB) has been designing energy-efficient buildings for 50 years. As sustainable design has moved into the forefront of responsible building technology, so has our reputation as sustainable design experts. M+NLB goes beyond sustainability and provides leadership for nonprofit organizations at both state and national levels. We are actively involved in working to change current codes and regulations to encompass energy-saving, alternative technologies, which are the focus of our research efforts. We seek to transform the thinking of the industry and strive to develop advanced methods and solutions that can cope with the challenges faced now and in the future.
- Mazzetti Nash Lipsey Burch is committed to the design of aggressively sustainable buildings. Consistent with this effort, M+NLB seeks to walk the talk and be aggressively sustainable in its business practice. The downtown location of the Portland office allows for a large portion of employees to commute to work through biking, walking and public transit.
M+NLB also turns its offices into learning labs, which allows for testing of products prior to specification in a job; Recently, M+NLB has tested wireless occupancy sensors in the office for retrofit applications.
- M+NLB completes an annual GHG inventory, which is verified through the Climate Registry. The Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions identified are then offset through the annual purchase of carbon offsets.
- M+NLB also actively reduces waste through its recycling program and catering policies as well as tracking purchases to understand and optimize purchasing. Environmentally friendly and energy efficient products are procured where available.
