Canned Air

Goodbye canned air, hello manual dust blowers.

Why ditch your canned air?

It’s not really “air”

Despite the name “canned air,” the cans actually contain fluorinated gases (because they're much easier to compress into liquids).

It’s bad for the environment

The aerosols released as “canned air” are some of the most potent greenhouse gases. Pound for pound, these fluorinated gases are many times more powerful at trapping heat than CO2.

How much worse are they than CO2 [1]?

  • Diflouroethane: 120 times.
  • Trifluoroethane: 4,400 times.
  • Tetrafluoroethane: 1,300 times.

Switch to a manual dust blower!

Sometimes called bulb dust blowers, they’re fun, quick and easy to use. And, unlike a can of aerosol, they never run out!

Use them to clean your:

  • Computer keyboard
  • Blinds
  • Office phone

*Global Warming Potential (GWP) represents how much a particular substance contributes to global warming over a period of time compared to a similar amount of carbon dioxide (CO2). The GWP of CO2 equals one.
