About the Smart Moves and Kids on the Move curricula
The Smart Moves and Kids on the Move curricula are no longer used in our programs or updated by our staff. They are available for download here as a resource. Educational consultants contracted by the City of Portland Bureau of Transportation developed the curricula below with the assistance of an advisory committee composed of Portland Public Schools administrators, teachers, parents, and Portland traffic-management specialists. In addition, TriMet, the Oregon Department of Transportation, the Portland Bureau of Transportation, and the Oregon Department of Education contributed materials and representatives to the final product.
Portland Kids on the Move is a traffic-safety curriculum with an emphasis on environmental concerns. This curriculum was written & designed especially for Portland-area school children, kindergarten through fifth grade.
This is the curriculum we actively use to teach our Pedestrian Safety classes. It was developed by Bicycle Transportation Alliance.
