Rides and Classes offer information and a supportive setting for adults new to cycling, new to the area, or just getting back on the bike. Active Transportation's Portland By Cycle campaign encourages you to use a bike more often - for fun, exercise, shopping, or even commuting to work. All activities are FREE and open to the public - no registration required (unless noted on the schedule).
Classes in Spring and Fall cover topics that everyone on a bike can appreciate, from the basics of starting out to maintaining your steed, shopping by bike, riding through the rainy season and more.
Guided bike rides show you the best of Portland's neighborhoods and how to ride safely and confidently. All rides are loops - they start and end the same spot. Both evenings' rides meet at 5:45, leave at 6:00, and last til about 8:00 p.m.
Returning by popular demand, the Autumn Series of Saturday morning rides will encourage you to keep riding as the weather gets more interesting. As with our summer series, the rides go at a moderate pace and are a great way to learn Portland's great bikeways.
