Portland By Cycle Rides and Classes offer information and a supportive setting for adults new to cycling or just getting back on the bike. This series encourages you to use a bike more often - for fun, errands, shopping, or even commuting to work.

Join us for a hands-on clinic covering basic bike maintenance, flat repair, and a few simple adjustments and cleaning techniques.  Learn how to keep your bike running like, um... a well-oiled machine! Bring your bike!

Get Rolling: On-the-Bike Riding Skills

Sat, June 13, 9:00am – 1:00pm

PCC CLIMB Center, 1626 SE Water Ave

Is the road beckoning but you're not sure you're ready?
This course will get you up to speed on rules of the road for cyclists, plus tips on how to stay safe, build skills and discover the best routes for getting around our fair city.
The first part of the workshop focuses on laws and on-the-bike skills like signaling, turning, shifting and braking. The second half we'll venture out for a short and easy spin around town so you can show your new riding skills. We'll explore the wonderful world of two-wheeled Portland.
Please bring your bike, helmet, water, a snack and wear weather-appropriate clothing. If it's been a while since you've pushed the pedals, please take your bike to a local shop for a safety check before the ride.
