Description

Celebrate Arbor Month!  This year, Arbor Month highlights stewardship: how trees care for us and how we care for trees.

Portland doesn't rest on its laurels – or its oaks. Learn how we're improving the urban canopy and making our streets friendlier. We'll see Heritage Trees, new plantings, green street features and more.  We’ll visit neighborhoods of the inner eastside from Sunnyside to Sellwood.

Great for folks new to the bike or new to the area, the ride will be easy-paced, with stops along the way to hear the stories of the trees.  Route will be mostly on low-traffic streets and neighborhood greenways, with some off-street paths.  A few sections will be on normally-busy streets with bike lanes (but on Sunday morning should be mellow).

The ride is free, but helmets are required.  Kids under 16 welcome if accompanied by an adult, and if able to complete a 12-mile ride.

Part of the Portland By Cycle series of rides and classes.   Click to see the full schedule.
