FINALLY!

We are ready to go to construction!  Construction is aniticpated to start the week of May 5.

The general sequence of construction events is as follows:

The contractor will begin with work on the crossing improvements, starting with SE Woodward and proceed north (Division, Lincoln, Stark and Burnside).  This work is anticipared to be completed mid-late June.  Striping and all pavement markings (sharrows) will follow, taking about a week to complete (weather permitting).  The speed bumps will also be constructed in this time frame.  The final piece work is the signal work at SE Division/52nd Ave and E Burnside/ 53rd Ave, which is anticipated to be completed by the end of July.

Monitoring and evaluation of the two diversion locations, SE Division/52nd Ave and E Burnside/ 53rd Ave, per the City Council recommendation, will begin shortly after the project is completed, lasting for 6 months.

March 20, 2014

We are still working with the contractor to complete the construction contract documents and hope to be able to begin work in early April.  Your patience is appreciated.

January, 2014

Construction is anticipated to begin in late March of 2014.

November, 2013:  Rebid

The project will be going to bid on November 25.  If all goes well with the bids, the start of construction is anticipated for March of 2014.

July, 2013

The project was put out to bid in June with the bid opening on July 9.  Unfortunately, the bids received were all substantially above the project's construction budget and original cost estimate.  This indicates that the construction market is currently saturated with work.   As a result, we will be re-bidding the project in November.  The new anticipated construction start date is February, 2014.  We appreciate your patience.
