The SmartTrips Northeast Hub program, our 2006 Target Area project, is now over, and what a great year - residents reduced their drive alone trips by 13%!. We'd like to say a big THANK YOU to all the sponsors, the volunteers, and the 5000+ NE Hub residents who took a walk, rode a bike, made a trip by transit, attended a Smart Living class, or discovered in whatever fashion that There's More Than One Way to Get There!
Read the full NE Hub report , detailing the impact this program has made on reducing drive-alone trips, reducing pollution, and increasing physical activity of Hub residents.
Our 2007 Target Area, affectionately known as SmartTrips Southeast, will include the neighborhoods of Sellwood/Moreland, Eastmoreland, Woodstock, Creston-Kenilworth, Reed, most of Mt. Scott-Arleta and Brentwood/Darlington, and a sliver of Hosford-Abernethy, Brooklyn, Richmond, and Ardenwald.
Options created SmartTrips Downtown to coincide with the construction on the Transit Mall. This program helps employers, employees, and residents of downtown Portland to learn all the options for trips in the central city. TriMet hosts a website giving up-to-date information on the changes to downtown's streetscape.
