Motorcycle and scooter users need not fear getting a parking citation if they use one of the following systems to provide proof of payment:
If a user pays with a credit or debit card, the technology allows PBOT to track and verify those purchases, or
If a user pays with cash, the user should write down (or text yourself) the receipt number and machine ID (see example). The receipt number acts as proof of payment and is traceable to your transaction, or
Use a cell phone to take a picture of the non-sticky back receipt if there are fears it will get stolen or lost. The receipt, picture or actual non-sticky card can serve as proof of payment.
In the event that a customer receives a parking citation, proof of payment can be validated by contacting PBOT at 503-823-7733 within 3 business days. Upon validation, the parking citation for non-payment of the meter will be cancelled immediately.
The City also offer free parking receipt holders to parking customers who fear their receipt will get stolen. The holders attach to your motorcycle or scooter with a combination lock, ensuring your parking payment will be secure and dry.

In addition, the City’s six SmartPark garages offer motorcycle parking for $45 per month, a deep discount relative to vehicles.
