Transportation Secretary LaHood to join Mayor Adams at S. Waterfront next week
WHAT
The Portland Bureau of Transportation and Mayor Sam Adams are hosting a groundbreaking for the SW Moody Avenue project in South Waterfront with U.S. Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood on Tuesday, March 22. The secretary will join Adams, U.S. congressmen Earl Blumenauer, David Wu and Kurt Schrader, partners from the Oregon Transportation Commission and the Oregon University System as they thank the federal government for the $23 million stimulus grant that is making the project possible.
WHO
Mayor Sam Adams, U.S. Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood, U.S. Representative Earl Blumenauer, U.S. Representative David Wu, U.S. Representative Kurt Schrader, and speakers from the Oregon Transportation Commission and the Oregon University System. Project partners and supporters, project construction crews and the general public are invited to attend.

Tuesday, March 22 at 10 a.m.
WHERE
The event will be held on SW Moody Avenue approximately halfway between the Marquam and Ross Island bridges and on the east side of the street. Parking details will be forthcoming.
PROJECT DETAILS
The SW Moody Project will reconstruct SW Moody Avenue between SW River Parkway and SW Gibbs Street in Portland’s South Waterfront district. The new Moody Avenue will support redevelopment of adjacent brownfields, facilitate the completion of MAX Light Rail and Portland Streetcar to the Eastside, and spur growth for the Innovation Quadrant.
