The safety and livability of neighborhoods go hand in hand. Transportation efforts to improve and maintain neighborhood livability include on-street parking operations and enforcement with a priority placed on safety, access for fire and emergency vehicles, and the removal of abandoned autos on public streets.
The Parking Enforcement Program enforces parking meter districts, time zones, loading zones, and restricted zones in an effort to help turn parking spaces over for access to businesses. The Portland Bureau of Transportation enforces parking within Portland city limits and in the public right of way only. PBOT does not enforce parking in off-street parking garages or on private property.
