TRAFFIC ADVISORY
Two-week closure of SW Bertha Blvd for Capitol Hwy Bridge construction work
(Portland, Ore.) - The City of Portland Bureau of Transportation advises the traveling public that Southwest Bertha Boulevard will be closed between Southwest Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway and Southwest Vermont Street beginning Tuesday, July 17, through Friday, July 27, from 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. to replace the outdated concrete substructure of the Capitol Highway Bridge.
The traveling public is advised to expect delays, travel cautiously in the work zone, and observe detours and directions by flaggers.
Only traffic going under the bridge will be detoured. Northbound traffic on Southwest Bertha Boulevard will be detoured at Southwest Vermont Street to Southwest 30th Avenue and back to Southwest Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway. Southbound traffic will be detoured at Southwest 30th Avenue to Southwest Vermont Street and back to Southwest Bertha Boulevard. Another option will allow traffic to use Southwest Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway to Southwest Capitol Highway to Southwest Terwilliger Boulevard. See detour map.
Note that no construction will occur on Sunday, July 22, so Bertha Boulevard will be open that day.
This work is dependent on weather, and the schedule may change.
