Walking the SW Sunday Parkways Route

Every Body Walk logo

This Sunday you have lots of opportunities to explore the Southwest Sunday Parkways route by foot or by wheels.

Kaiser Permanente and Every Body Walk! invites community members to join a two mile walk along a section of the SW Urban Trails route, highlighting the importance of walking as a fun and easy way to elevate total health – mind, body and spirit.  (The route does include some uneven, rocky parts that may not be wheelchair accessible.)  The first 150 people to check in at the Every Body Walk! tent at Gabriel Park at 11AM on July 22 will get a free t-shirt.

Willamette Pedestrian Coalition will once again be bringing the fun to Sunday Parkways.  Join them as they dance walk their way from the Multnomah Arts Center (Capitol Hwy and SW 33rd), 11AM, around part of the route.

And, of course, there is the first time walking route that is a total of 3.8 miles, two of those miles are walking-only.  The route uses the beautiful SW Urban Trails and does include some stairs.  Also, the roads will not actually be closed to auto traffic so please keep that in mind.

If you typically bike Sunday Parkways, this would be a great opportunity for you to get off your bike and explore SW on foot.
