TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Street improvements to close SE 17th Avenue for two weeks beginning October 8
PORTLAND, Ore. – The City of Portland Bureau of Transportation advises the traveling public that street improvements will close Southeast 17th Avenue between Southeast Bybee Boulevard and Southeast Claybourne Street beginning Monday, October 8, through Monday, October 22, all hours and all days. The closure is necessary to replace sections of failed concrete road base under the asphalt surface and repave those sections of the street.
The public is advised to expect delays, travel cautiously, observe all street closures and work zone signage, and use alternate routes. Local access will be provided to residents. Both sidewalks will be kept open.
Two detours will be in effect. Northbound traffic on SE 17th Ave will be detoured onto SE Bybee Blvd, west to SE Milwaukie Ave, north to SE Claybourne St, and back to SE 17th Ave. Southbound traffic will be detoured onto SE Claybourne St, west to SE Milwaukie Ave, south to SE Bybee Blvd, and back to SE 17th Avenue.
