Updated Traffic Advisory: Street paving to close lanes on SW Barbur Blvd on Oct. 8-19

UPDATED TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Street paving to close lanes on SW Barbur Blvd on October 8-19

Bike lane striping and lane changes moved to next paving season

PORTLAND, Ore.– The City of Portland Bureau of Transportation advises the traveling public that lane closures will be necessary on Southwest Barbur Boulevard between Southwest Sheridan Street and Southwest Viewpoint Terrace beginning Monday, October 8, through Friday, October 19, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. each week day. The closures are necessary to remove the existing pavement and repave the street between Southwest Hooker Street and Southwest Viewpoint Terrace.

The public is advised to expect delays, travel cautiously, observe all lane closures and directions by flaggers, and use alternate routes if possible. One lane in each direction will remain open at all times. Local access to residences and businesses will be provided.

To avoid potential traffic conflicts in Southwest Portland during the week of Portland-Milwaukie Light Rail girder installations, the repaving of Southwest Fifth Avenue, Southwest Sheridan Street, and Southwest Barbur Boulevard between Southwest Sheridan Street and Southwest Hooker Street will be moved to next paving season along with the new bike lane striping and lane configuration changes originally scheduled with this paving project.

This work is weather-dependent, and the schedule may change.
