Hooley Bridge over I-5 in S. Waterfront reopens after elevator inspection
The elevator for the Hooley Pedestrian Bridge reopened on Thursday, October 4, after closing for elevator modifications and final state inspection.
The Gibbs Street Pedestrian Bridge opened in July and was renamed the “US Congresswoman Darlene Hooley Pedestrian Bridge at Gibbs Street” by Mayor Sam Adams in a ceremony.
The bridge lands on the west side near the intersection of SW Gibbs Street and SW Kelly Avenue and on the east side near the intersection of SW Gibbs Street and SW Moody Avenue. It reconnects the South Waterfront and Lair Hill neighborhoods.
