Shoppers Encouraged to Use SmartPark Garages for Holiday Weekend

On-street parking is free at meters on Thanksgiving Day

(PORTLAND, Ore.) – The Portland Bureau of Transportation advises visitors to Downtown Portland for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend that all SmartPark garages will close at 12 a.m. on Thursday, November 22, for Thanksgiving Day and will re-open for Friday. On-street parking will be free at the meters on Thanksgiving Day, and regular parking rates will apply Friday through Sunday.

SmartPark garages will re-open for Friday according to the following schedule and will operate according to their regular business hours:

The garages at SW 3rd Ave, SW4th Ave, and SW 10th Ave will re-open early to accommodate Black Friday early shoppers. The SW 3rd Ave maximum all-day rate will cover all hours parked between 11 p.m. Thursday through 6 p.m. Friday. The SW 4th Ave and SW 10th Ave maximum all-day rate will cover all hours parked between 12 a.m. Friday through 6 p.m. Friday. This special rate will apply only on Friday, November 23. 

SmartPark garages are open for regular business all hours and all days with the following two exceptions: O’Bryant Square garage is open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday; Naito and Davis garage is open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday, 7 a.m. to 12 a.m. Monday through Thursday, and 7 a.m. to 3 a.m. Friday and Saturday.  

The six City of Portland SmartPark parking garages include nearly 4,000 public parking spaces and serve shoppers, business clients and visitors to Downtown Portland.
