St. Johns traffic calming open house is Wed.

Residents of St. Johns were invited to attend an open house to discuss a Portland Bureau of Transportation project to make North Fessenden Street, North St. Louis Avenue and North Lombard Street safer for travelers and more efficient for trucks. The St. Johns Truck Strategy open house is Wednesday, December 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the St. Johns Community Center (8427 North Central Street). Information in Spanish is available from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Attendees will be able to learn about the project and review draft recommendations. Transportation Bureau staff will be available for discussion and to receive comments from the public. Key issues include volume of truck traffic, access to public transit, pedestrian and bicycle safety and traffic calming.

For more information, the public is asked to contact Bob Hillier at 503-823-7567 or robert.hillier@portlandoregon.gov and Rich Newlands at 503-823-7780 or rich.newlands@portlandoregon.gov.
