Be an Info Booth Coordinator!

A fun and challenging volunteer position in Portland’s premier community event


Portland Sunday Parkways seeks energetic and qualified event and volunteer coordinators to assist the Sunday Parkways staff in coordinating Marketplaces at individual parks during events and supporting the volunteers who help with the event.

Each of the five Parkways events brings activities, games, food vendors, entertainers, and more to parks along the route.  The Marketplace Coordinator will supervise a single park, leading the full set up and execution of the park.  The Marketplace Coordinator will supervise all volunteers assigned to the park, including those helping with set up and break down, and those staffing the information booth.  Additionally, this position will assess and address problems, and communicate with the Event Managers to ensure a smooth event.


  • Provide confident assistance to PBOT Park Leaders
  • Set up park with supplies, equipment and visual materials
  • Check in vendors and direct them to their assigned locations
  • Set up the information booth
  • Coordinate all volunteers assigned to the park
  • Collect donations to Sunday Parkways
  • Conduct hourly participant surveys
  • Close the event, take down and pack all supplies
  • Communicating with the Course Manager and PBOT staff throughout the event
  • Quickly and confidently solve event-related problems
  • Be a cheerful ambassador for Sunday Parkways to event participants, volunteers, and the neighborhood
  • Prepare a detailed written report promptly after each event


  • Past volunteer experience at Sunday Parkways preferred, especially as an Info Booth Volunteer
  • Experience coordinating large-scale events
  • Experience leading groups of volunteers
  • Ability to communicate assertively and positively with the public
  • Ability to make confident decisions in pressured situations
  • Friendly, patient and energetic personality
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Own a cell phone with text capability

Dates and Locations:

  • May 10th – East
  • June 21st  – North
  • July 26th  – Northeast
  • August 23rd – Southeast
  • September 20th  – Tilikum Crossing 

Staff Supervisor: Volunteer Program and Course Manager

Length of Commitment: 3 or more Sunday Parkways events in 2015, starting at 8:30am and ending at 4:30pm.

Required Training: A single training session prior to the season and then a route overview before each event
