In 2011, PBOT’s Safe Routes program worked with community stakeholders to create policy around equitable service delivery. Now this policy guides the program in selecting schools to receive infrastructure projects, education services and encouragement initiatives and will guide how Safe Routes allocates funds in the future, including $5 million from Portland Public Schools over the next 7 years.
