LID formed by City Council on May 14, 2014

Utility undergrounding on N. and NE Fremont Streets between NE Cleveland Avenue and N. Vancouver Avenue completed on August 29, 2014

Advertised for bids on November 19, 2014

Opened bids on December 16, 2014

Contract awarded to Tice Electric Co. on January 28, 2015

Civil design completed on January 30, 2015

Preconstruction meeting held on February 17, 2015.

City Council approved new left turn signal from N. Fremont St. westbound to N. Vancouver Ave. southbound on March 25, 2015.

Schedule as of October 2, 2015:

   N. Williams & Fremont intersection:

         8/29/15:           Upgraded mast arm traffic signal activated (complete)

   N. Vancouver & Cook intersection:

         10/14/15:         New mast arm traffic signal activated

   N. Vancouver & Fremont intersection:

         11/06/15:         Upgraded mast arm traffic signal and new left turn signal from westbound Fremont to southbound Vancouver activated

Streets and intersections include:

  • North Cook Street from the Interstate 405 off-ramp to North Vancouver Avenue (realignment of eastbound lanes)
  • North Vancouver Avenue & Cook Street intersection (new mast arm traffic signal)
  • North Vancouver Avenue & Fremont Street intersection (mast arm traffic signal to replace existing span wire signal)
  • North Williams Avenue & Fremont Street intersection (mast arm traffic signal to replace existing span wire signal)

Property owners are funding this project with the Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) funding overhead costs and the cost of the new left turn signal from N. Fremont St. westbound to N.
