Community event fees are determined by the following criterias

  • Audience: Is this event advertised to a neighborhood or citywide?
  • Sponsor: Is this event sponsored by a for-profit or a non-profit?*
  • Alcohol: Is this event with alcohol or without alcohol?
  • Metered Parking: Is the street closure in an area that has metered parking?

*The entity that supplies the City of Portland required liability insurance is considered the event sponsor. There is a $50.00 expedited fee if your application is submitted less than 15 business days prior to the event date.

Neighborhood Event

Each Additional Street

Non-profit sponsor: $36 $18
For profit sponsor: $200 $100
 Alcohol served at the event: $375  

Citywide Event

Each Additional Street

Non-profit sponsor: $59 $29.50
For profit sponsor: $400 $200
Alcohol served at the event: $375  

Parking Spaces in Non-metered Districts

No parking bags are provided with your permit that you will place on barricades along the street to reserve parking 24 hours in advance of your event.  These cost of each bag is $2.00 per bag.  For a standard 200 foot block, you will be given 12 bags (6 for each side).  For more information on barricade enforcement, please go to:


Parking Spaces in Metered Districts

If the event closes a street within pay to park metered area, fees are assessed for each metered space in the closed street area per day.  The current fee is $10.34 per space per day.
