How can I protect groundwater?

City of Portland Groundwater Protection Program logoWhat Can You Do To Protect Groundwater?
It is everyone's responsibility who lives and works in the Protection Area to use chemicals responsibly to protect groundwater quality. The Columbia South Shore Well Field Wellhead Protection Area Reference Manual provides guidance to regulated businesses. Non-regulated businesses and residents can help too by using and disposing of chemicals responsibly.

Specific ways that you can protect groundwater in your community are listed below. Or attend one of our many groundwater special events.
