Located at the confluence of the Sandy and Bull Run rivers, Dodge Park is a playground in Portland’s backyard. Just 20 miles east of Portland, the park offers seasonal camping, year-round picnicking, fishing, and boating. The park is owned and managed by the Portland Water Bureau, which has a watershed maintenance facility nearby. Click here to view directions and a map to Dodge Park.
Day Use
Dodge Park is open for day use year-round and fee-free, and offers a unique site for fishing and picnicking. Picnic sites boast tables and grills. There is a children’s playground and portable sanitary facilities available year round. The restrooms -- located in the Community Hall -- are open during camping season only.
Camping
Camping for the 2013 season opens on Friday, May 24 and will close on Monday September 30, 2013. Campsites are available by reservation, and reservations can be taken anytime. Call Portland Parks & Recreation’s parks reservation line at 503-823-2525 for an exact schedule and to make reservations. There are 20 sites total: 15 walk-in tent sites (parking in designated spots) and 5 sites for Recreational Vehicles (no hook-ups). Two RV sites will fit vehicles up to 25’, and three sites will fit vehicles up to 22’. Restrooms and quarter-operated showers are located at the Community Hall.
Campsites are $22.00 per night, plus an $8.00 reservation processing fee. Open, unreserved sites are available on a first-come, first-serve basis with no reservation processing fee. Site parking spaces are limited. Cost includes one vehicle; extra vehicles are $5.00 each. Firewood bundles are also available for $5.00. Campsite check-in time is 4:00 PM and check-out time is 12:00 PM. A volunteer camp host is on-site to assist campers. Please view our campground map for site locations.
Community Hall
Book your next family reunion, company picnic, or wedding at the fully renovated Dodge Park Community Hall. The Community Hall is available for rent during the camping season, which opens this year on May 24, 2013 and closes September 30, 2013 The facility has a sheltered dining hall that seats approximately 40, has an attached restrooms with showers, a food prep area, and an outdoor amphitheater that seats approximately 75. Electricity is available for both the dining hall and amphitheater. The Community Hall is available by reservation by calling 503-823-2525 during regular business hours. The rental fee is $65.00 for half day, $115.00 for full day, plus a $115.00 deposit.
Boat Launch
Dodge Park is one of many launch sites for the 38 river miles that make up the Sandy River Water Trail. Boaters are allowed to leave a shuttle vehicle overnight at Dodge Park under the following conditions:
October 1 - Memorial Day weekend
Boaters must call Portland Water Bureau Security at 503-823-6084 and provide the following information:
June 1 - September 30
