Permits - Fire Hydrants

Permits and equipment are issued by Water Bureau Meter Shop staff at the Field Operations Center:

Location 1850 N Interstate Avenue, Portland OR
Driving Directions From N. Larrabee Ave, north of N. Broadway, turn right onto N. Hancock St.
Turn left at entrance to the Field Operations Center. Follow signs to the Meter Shop.

Hours 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday - Thursday
8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Friday, by appointment only 

**Starting January 1, 2016, all hydrant permit pick-ups and returns will be by appointment only. Please call 503-823-8774 to set up an appointment.
Payment Payable by Visa or Mastercard. 
If you pay with a credit card please allow one to two weeks for equipment deposit to be refunded after job is completed and equipment returned.

Payable with one check. 
If you pay fees and deposit with one check please allow one to two weeks for equipment deposit to be refunded after job is completed and equipment returned.

Payable with two checks. 
If you pay with two checks (one for permit fees and one for equipment deposit) your deposit check will be held and returned when your job is completed and equipment is returned.
