Environmental Technician I

Job Description: Environmental Technicians I perform a variety of technical and analytical tasks for environmental, water quality or natural resource science programs. Environmental Technicians I are assigned to programs in both the Water Bureau and Bureau of Environmental Services (BES) such as drinking water quality monitoring and compliance and/or storm water management. Environmental Technicians I work under general supervision and are responsible for coordinating and conducting water quality sampling, technical investigations and environmental analysis; and coordinating activities and projects as part of large, multiple and/or complex environmental, water quality and natural resources programs. Technicians may also initiate, respond to and/or monitor regulatory compliance at the City, State and Federal levels.

Job Description: The Water Bureau Emergency Management Manager is responsible for developing, managing and implementing the bureau’s emergency management program.  The incumbent’s duties include providing administrative and technical management, expertise and coordination on program activities; exercising sound judgment and considerable discretion in carrying out responsibilities independently and with awareness of emergency preparedness issues and sensitivities; developing, implementing and managing bureau-wide emergency preparedness programs, including planning, training, education, response, recovery and equipping of bureau staff; coordinating emergency preparedness with other City bureaus and regional agencies; and performing related duties as assigned.

Senior Engineering Associate - Civil

Job Description: Senior Engineering Associates perform intermediate to complex engineering work. Work involves applying advanced technical engineering knowledge to the solution of municipal engineering problems in the planning, design, construction and maintenance of the City's infrastructure: water, sewage, drainage, streets, parks and traffic management systems. Senior Engineering Associates are responsible for managing several projects at once. Work is performed independently but under the direction of a professional engineer. Some positions may require a valid state driver’s license.
