Lead-in-water testing is a coordinated effort through the Lead Hazard Reduction Program between the Portland Water Bureau and the LeadLine. Test kits ordered through the LeadLine are processed by the Portland Water Bureau Water Quality Laboratory, which is accredited by the State of Oregon.
The test kit includes instructions, sample bottles, a postage-paid return envelope, and an information card that needs to be filled out by the customer and returned with the water sample.
Free lead-in-water testing is available to all Portland Water Bureau customers. Additionally, the Portland Water Bureau works in cooperation with other water utilities in the Bull Run service area to offer this program. Customers of the water utilities listed below also receive free lead-in-water testing:
