Portland Water Bureau crews have completed repairs on an 8-inch diameter cast iron water pipe that ruptured on Monday, October 15. The main break occurred near the intersection of West Burnside Street, approximately 300 yards east of the Pittock Mansion turnoff.

All traffic lanes are open in both directions.

On Friday, October 19, the eastbound lane on West Burnside Street will be closed to allow workers to apply permanent asphalt on the damaged section of roadway. This work will occur from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

The cause of the broken water pipe is not known.
