TRAFFIC ADVISORY 12/06/12: Traffic Diverted into One Lane through Intersection of NE 59th Avenue and NE Halsey Street for 3 Days

From Friday, December 7 through Sunday, December 9, 2012, the Portland Water Bureau must close one southbound lane through the intersection of NE 59th Avenue and NE Halsey Street. The closure is necessary for bureau crews to replace a leaky section of 30-inch diameter cast iron water main and install a large water control valve.
Typically, the work will begin at 7:30 AM and concludes each day around 6:00 PM. All traffic lanes will be open after work hours.
Drive time through this intersection will be affected as traffic will be restricted to one lane through the work zone. Flaggers and cones will be stationed to slow, stop and guide traffic safely. Motorists and bicyclists are encouraged to find alternate routes, and reminded to stay alert for slow and stopped traffic.
