Groundwater Protection Area logoThe Portland Water Bureau and Columbia Slough Watershed Council invite the public to attend their annual Groundwater 101 workshop.  The free event will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2013, from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm at the NECA-IBEW Electrical Training Center located at 16021 NE Airport Way, Portland, Oregon 97230.

Groundwater 101 is an educational, interactive workshop that teaches groundwater basics, including local geology and hydrology, the role groundwater plays in Portland’s drinking water system and what we can do to protect this important resource.

Participants are presented with a mix of hands-on and classroom-style learning that is appropriate for adults and students age 14 and older. Light refreshments will be served.

After the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to get an exclusive behind the scenes look at the city’s groundwater facility.

Pre-registration is required, so please register online and reserve your spot.
