Join “Your Sustainable City” at the Hacienda National Night Out Party on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 and pledge your help in strengthening community cohesiveness and crime resistance.
National Night Out is an initiative centered on reducing crime by holding block parties in neighborhoods where neighbors meet each other and members of local law enforcement.
The “Your Sustainable City” partnership, composed of City of Portland employees from the Portland Water Bureau, Bureau of Planning and Sustainability, Bureau of Development Services and Portland Bureau of Transportation, are participating in the Hacienda National Night Out event to share simple, sustainable actions the public can take to protect human health and our environment.
This year, close to 180 National Night Out events have been scheduled in the Portland-Metro area. If you plan on organizing or attending a National Night Out event, the “Your Sustainable City” group encourages you to do your part in making it a sustainable affair that conserves and restores resources:
If you’re in the neighborhood, please stop by and visit the “Your Sustainable City” table from 3:30 pm to 7:00 pm at the intersection of NE Killingworth Street and NE Cully Street at Hacienda's National Night Out party. We will be there to greet and educate you about the benefits of sustainability!
