“Your Sustainable City” Shows Support at Good in the Hood Multicultural Festival

By Lindsay Wochnick

For the 22nd year in a row, the annual Good in the Hood Multicultural Festival returns this weekend to North Portland. The event promises to delight with music, a parade, kid’s space and food vendors. This Rose Festival sanctioned event attracts tens of thousands of people each year.

The festival runs all weekend at Lillis-Albina Park/Harriet Tubman Middle School at N Flint and N Russell Streets.

Help yourself to information on multiple sustainability-focused programs the city offers to citizens.During the festival on Saturday, June 28, keep your eye out for the “Your Sustainable City” booth, staffed by City of Portland employees hailing from the Bureau of Planning and Sustainability and Portland Water Bureau.

At the booth, you will find information on multiple sustainability-focused programs the Bureau of Environmental Services, Portland Bureau of Transportation, Bureau of Planning and Sustainability, Bureau of Development ServicesPortland Parks & Recreation, and Portland Water Bureau offers to citizens, including transportation alternatives, water conservation, recycling, green building, parks services and more!

Please stop by and to learn how you and your family can implement practices that will lead to healthier living for the planet and its inhabitants, big and small.

Hope to see you there!
