The City of Portland's Environemental Services works to improve water quality, control erosion, reduce stormwater pollution, aid in long-term salmon recovery, and enhance wildlife habitat. Examples of stream and habitat enhancement projects include:

Iron Mountain Sewer Protection and Stream Enhancement in Tryon Creek State Natural Area

East Lents Floodplain Restoration along Johnson Creek

Mason Flats Wetland Enhancement in the Columbia Slough

Stephens Creek Confluence Habitat Enhancement at the confluence with the Willamette River
