Portland Community College- 2305 SE 82nd Ave + Division St. Portland, OR 97216 PORTLAND CITY COUNCIL EXPLORES CLIMATE ACTION PROPOSALS IN EAST PORTLAND THIS THURSDAY NIGHT WHAT: Portland City Council strives to expand opportunities to connect with our community members about critical issues facing Portland. Council commissioners will hear updates about proposed actions to advance Portland's leadership on climate change. 'As a city, we are deeply committed to protecting our environment and improving the lives of all Portlanders,' Mayor Ted Wheeler said. 'East Portland is the heart and soul of the City of Portland, so it's important we share our conversations with community members who live there.' 'With this appointment, the PCEF committee is fully staffed and can begin informing the development of the PCEF program, including the grant criteria,' said Bureau of Planning and Sustainability Director Andrea Durbin. 'We look forward to the day when we can announce the first set of grants to fund clean energy projects in East Portland.' The Council will also hear an update on the Rose Lane Project, an effort led by Transportation Commissioner Chloe Eudaly to create bus priority lanes to improve public transit service across Portland. 'I am looking forward to sharing the Rose Lane Project Update with all of City Council this Thursday,' Eudaly said. Calendar Building an Accessory Dwelling Unit on Your Property in Portland Oregon Community Events 4815 NE 7th Ave- Northeast Coalition of Neighborhood's Office The ADU Class: This class is intended for homeowners interested in building an ADU on their property. For most homeowners, building an ADU is not simple or straightforward--it's essentially the job of being a land developer--- a job that most of us know have ever done, or will likely ever do again. Think of this class as an on-ramp to the process of designing and building an ADU. This class will open your eyes to the spectrum of content that you'll execute and manage in the course of designing and building and ADU. It is intended to make the whole process and project better by helping you understand the ADU design, management, and building process. By the end of the class, you will better understand the design/permit/build process, which will save you significant time and money, and will result in a better product--an ADU that will work well for your particular situation. In the process of designing and building my ADU, I have become passionate about ADUs generally. I am not a general contractor nor an architect trying to pitch my services to you. I am a homeowner and environmental professional with a passion for ADUs and a lot of practical information to share about them. The class is full of extremely high-value information that you can't find anywhere else. You'll Walk Away from the Class Understanding… The design, permitting, and building process Relevant green building concepts, approaches, and certifications Financing, rebates, incentives, cost-saving design/build measures, contracts Resources, references and contacts to help you design and build your ADU (including ADU regulations, local building material sourcing recommendations, a budget sample, contract types and more).
