Cultural Celebrations and Events

Created in June 2007, Diverse and Empowered Employees of Portland (DEEP) oversees the coordination of cultural celebrations, special events and gatherings of over ten City of Portland Affinity Groups. From renowned speaker engagements to the providing event sponsorship and logistical support; DEEP works closely with the Office of Equity and Human Rights (OEHR) and other significant bureaus to manage and track monthly cultural celebrations and special events of the City of Portland.

If your bureau or group is interested in co-sponsoring or organizing a cultural celebration or special event, please submit your request through DEEP. It is recommended that requests be made at least three months in advance of the designated month. Because sponsorship of cultural celebrations is an important tool in building community and cross-cultural understanding, we encourage bureaus to partner with other bureaus and outside community groups. Sponsorships and organizing groups can change year-to-year.

Please contact DEEP Events if you have celebration ideas or would like to participate.
